UPDATE : PRE-REGISTRATION IS CLOSED - ALL BOAT OWNERS WHO HAVE REGISTERED SHOULD DOWNLOAD THE FORM FOUND IN "CHARTER BOATS " AND SUBMIT WITH PROOF OF PAYMENT.

All boat owners wishing to apply to register their surf charter boat should follow the correct procedure:

1. First please join the MMTA by paying Rp2 million to the MMTA account as specified in the letter attached below.

2. After joining the MMTA,  pay Rp15 million advanced Retribution Fees to the Mentawai Government account specified in the letter below.

a) If you have made formal arrangements with one of the 5 Marine Tour License holders, please specify the name of the company and the name of your boat on the Bank Deposit Receipt. Forward a copy of the Bank Deposit Receipt to your MTO company so that they can register your boat with the Mentawai Government.

b) If you have not made any formal arrangement with any MTO License holder, please specify the name of your boat on the Bank Deposit Receipt and the MMTA will allocate your     boat to one of the MTO License holders. After you have completed formal agreements with the MTO License holder, they will notify the MMTA so they can register your boat with the MMTA & Mentawai Government.

All boats must be registered by MTO companies by Friday 23rd March 2007. Boats that have not been allocated to MTOs after that date can not be guaranteed a license to operate in Mentawai. If any vacancy exists under any MTO company, the MMTA will inform the boat owner.

The 5 current MTO License holders are:

- Kandui Resort - PT Saraina Koat Mentawai
- Pitojat Island - PT Bangun Toro Koat
